Wry neck or torticollis is a disorder that results in limited motion of the cervical spine, causing the head to remain in a tilted position. Torticollis is caused by muscular, skeletal, or neurologic abnormalities. Some common names for torticollis include skeletal wry neck, congenital wry neck, cock robin deformity, and Sandifer’s syndrome. There are basically two types of torticollis — acquired or congenital muscular torticollis. We believe that the most common cause of torticollis or wry neck is a rotatory subluxation of the atlanto-occipital joint, which is an acquired condition.Congenital muscular torticollis, on the other hand, develops early in the life of a child. Patients with torticollis often have trauma to the cervical spine due to the high incidence of a breech birth. The classic physical finding in torticollis is the tilting of the head to one side resulting in a limited range of motion. The head is typically rotated away from the neutral position. Some patients can feel on their neck a mass or lump that is often a contracted sternocleidomastoid (SCM) muscle. A common complaint is neck pain. Adult patients may also complain of occipital pain, vertigo, and dizziness. Contracture of the SCM muscle is another common cause of congenital muscular torticollis; the muscle may eventually become fibrotic .The most common bony abnormality is atlantoaxial rotatory subluxation – rotatory displacement of C1 on C2. Treatment of torticollis, as with any disorder, depends on accurately diagnosing the true cause of the condition first.

I had a bad back just 2 days ago.. and by yesterday I was almost crying in pain. I could not change position without being in pain neither could I sit or sleep. I would like to thank them for slotting a last minute appt to accommodate me. I went to Dr Tim thinking it was all due to a bad posture or a sprained back but to my surprised it all have to do with my cranial. Dr Tim just by touching my cranial he knows where and how to make my back feels better. I walked out of the clinic almost pain free. Thanks once a again.read more
I had sleep apnea for about many years and snore a lot while sleeping. Beside feeling tired frequently, I have a tendency to fall asleep during the day. For example, during bible study even after just a few minutes I would have a tendency to just doze off. It happened so consistently until it became quite embarrassing. I couldn't even stay for snacks and tea or coffee as I had to rush back home to sleep before 10pm. Being so tired meant I found myself going to sleep very early usually by 8.30pm. After Functional Cranial Release treatments with Dr Lim, I now have more energy and I am able to stay up till 11pm and still feel energetic. Now I feel I have more energy and drive do house chores. Now I am able to breathe deeper and feel I have more air as compared to shallow breathing in the past.read more
